BÚZIOS |
Búzios beach lies around 30km to the South of Natal, and it is one of the most popular in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Its trademark is the majestic dunes stretching as far as Barra de Tabatinga. Like the neighboring beaches, such as Pirangi, Tabatinga, and Camurupim, Búzios started to develop in the 1980s, when a number of summer holidaymakers discovered its beauty and invested in houses there.

There are several attractions that can be enjoyed near the beach, as well as the dunes and the hidden lagoons. In Pirangi, the largest cashew tree in the world can be found and boat trips take tourists to the natural pools in the high seas, to go snorkeling. On Tabatinga, one of the most popular surfing beaches, there is the wonderful Arituba Lagoon and the Mirante dos Golfinhos (Dolphin Viewpoint), where there is a spectacular view from the top of the cliffs.

The beach has a good infrastructure, with groceries, restaurants and bars. A lot of people who work in Natal have chosen to live here, because of its easy access along excellent roads, and the relatively short distance.

Búzios is a quiet beach, with few permanent residents, but a lot of summer houses. However, during Carnival, the streets are taken over by revelers who enjoy themselves during the day and then “migrate” to Pirangi, where the street carnival is celebrated with thousands of people. Whether it is the summertime, carnival period, or during the rest of the year, the Búzios breeze charms and cleans the soul of those who visit the beach, making them fall in love with the place and want to return to it.
